Gordon Cooper's Flown Spacesuite Neckring CoverThe aluminized nylon strap is the neckring cover from Gordon Cooper's  Mercury spacesuit.

After Gordon Cooper's Mercury Atlas 9 flight, he presented this momento to the nurse of the Astronauts, Ms. Dee O'Hara.

On February 25, 1995, Superior Stamp & Coin of Beverly Hill, California auctioned this artifact on the behalf of Ms. O'Hara.

This was lot number 138 in that auction.  The lot description from the catalog stated, "138. Neckring Cover.  The original 32 inch silver cloth neckring cover from Gordon Cooper's Mercury Space suit.  Folded.  Like new. Ex-Dee O'Hara."

A type written certificate of authenticity that has been hand signed by Astronaut Cooper accompanies this artifact.

The Earth To The Moon Air and Space Museum acquired this artifact from the Superior Stamp & Coin auction.
