| This sterling
silver medallion was flown on board the Gemini VIII flight with
Astronauts Armstrong and Scott. After the mission the Gemini VIII crew presented this medallion to Astronaut Wally Schirra. On March 26, 1995, Odyssey Auctions on behalf of Astronaut Schirra put this artifact up for sale. This was lot number 54 in that auction. The description from the auction catalog stated, "54. Gemini VIII Flown Medallion. A commemorative GT-8 medallion flown on the flight." A type written letter of authenticity accompanies this artifact. It is from the Odyssey auction that the Earth To The Moon Air and Space Museum acquired this artifact. |
