This gold plated medallion was flown on Gemini IX with Astronauts Stafford and Cernan.

This artifact is from the Buzz Aldrin collection. It was consigned for auction by Superior Galleries on May 16, 1998 in their Spring 1998 Space Memorabilia Auction. This was lot number 480A in that auction.

The description in the auction catalog stated, "480A. Flown 25x18mm. Gold Plated Sterling Medallion engraved on the reverse Gemini IX / June 3-6, 1966. This is the first GT-9 individual flown medallion we have presented and the first that has been gold plated. An opportunity to acquire an important classic piece of flown memorabilia. Ex- the Dr. Buzz Aldrin Collection."

This artifact was acquired by the Earth To The Moon Air & Space Museum from the Superior Galleries auction.
