This artifact is a
stainless steel model of the Gemini Titan rocket. It was
presented to Lieutenant Colonel Edward H. White after the successful
completion of Gemini IV.
This model was put up for sale by the estate of Edward H. White, II at
the Fall 2001 Space Memorabilia Auction on October 27, 2001 by
Superior Stamps & Space Memorabilia.
This was lot number 567 in that auction and the auction description
from the catalogue was, "567 "GT-II" Rocket Model
(12.5x1.5") A
gleaming, stainless steel presentation model given to Ed White in honor
of his flight. The stainless steel base (6x3") has an engraved
black inset that reads "6-3-65 / 6-7-65 / GT-4 / Lt. Col. Edward H.
White / Gemini-Titan-II". A unique and striking model. Ex- the Ed White
II Estate Collection."
The Earth To The Moon Air and Space Museum
acquired this artifact from the Superior STamps & Space Memorabilia
