IV Flown Sterling Silver Medallion Back

This artifact is a
sterling silver medallion that flew
on Gemini IV with Astronauts McDivitt and White.
This artifact was consigned for auction in Superior Galleries Spring
2001 Space Memorabilia Auction on May 5, 2001.
This was lot number 384 in that auction. The description in the
auction catalogue stated, "384
Flown
Sterling Silver 25 mm Medallion along with a 6x4" U.S. silk flag and an
8x10" NASA color publicity photo signed by Ed White (all there items
have been professionally matted and framed to an overall size of
22x16"). Similar lot (No. 3 of 3). This piece was originally part of
the Ed White Estate collection. An Ed White III certificate of
authenticity is included."
I
have chosen not to exhibit the entire display here so as to provide a
closer view of the flown medallion.
The spot that you see on the back of the medallion is actually glue
where the medallion has been glued to the back glass of the display.
The Earth
To The Moon Air and Space Museum acquired this artifact from the
Superior Galleries auction. |
