President
John F. Kennedy delivered a speech before a joint session of the United
States Congress on May 25, 1961. It was in that speech that President
Kennedy set forth a challenge that led to the greatest adventure in the
history of mankind.
This museum is dedicated to the men and women who lived that adventure.
Through their hard work, sacrifices, and dedication it became possible
not only to dream of other worlds but also to visit them.
"...I
believe this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before
this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him
safely to the Earth."
