With the Apollo 17 mission to the Moon, America closed out man's first exploration of another celestial body.

During the Apollo 17 mission I followed the EVAs using a NASA publication titled "On The Moon With Apollo 17."  Receiving that publication was a huge surprise to me.  My mom had written off to NASA to request a copy of it without me knowing that it was even available.  I was thrilled when it arrived in the mail before the mission.

For Apollo 17, I again captured images from the mission off of our black and white television.  I also recorded audio with a cassette recorder.   This was also the first mission that I had upgraded to a new method of photography.  I had saved my money and purchased a Super 8 movie camera.  I recorded movies of the moon walks.

On these journal pages for Apollo 17,  you can view some of the still photographs that I captured. Credit for all photos on this page is mine.
