These aviator
sunglasses
and this betacloth case were flown on Apollo 7 and used by Astronaut
Walt Cunningham. Astronaut Cunningham has autographed the reverse side
of the betacloth case.
These sunglasses and case were in the personal collection of Astronaut
Cunningham until he consigned them for auction in 1994.
On February 27, 1994, Odyssey Auctions sold this artifact in their Space, Sports, and Historical
Autographs and Memorabilia Auction.
This was lot number 153 in the auction catalog. The description
in the catalog stated, "153.
Apollo
VII Sunglasses. The sunglasses worn by Walter Cunningham aboard
the Apollo VII mission with the original beta cloth case imprinted with
serial and part numbers. Signed by Cunningham."
The Earth To The

Museum acquired this artifact from the Odyssey
auction. Later, a type written
statement of authenticity, hand signed
by Astronaut Cunningham was obtained for this artifact. |
