Apollo 16 Lunar Restraint Strap
This lunar restraint strap went down to the surface of the Moon inside of the lunar module Orion on Apollo 16.

The artifact was consigned by Apollo 16 Lunar Module Pilot Charlie Duke in the Space and Aviation Autographs and Memorabilia Auction conducted by Odyssey Auctions on March 26th, 1995.  This strap was lot number 229 in that auction.

The lot description from the auction catalogue stated, "229. Lunar Restraint Strap. An official strap used by Duke on the lunar surface.  The strap was used to hold items in place in the near weightlessness of the lunar module.  Features official NASA part and serial numbers."

Accompanying this artifact is had hand written letter of authenticity written and signed by General Duke.

The Earth To the Moon Air and Space Museum acquired this artifact in the Odyssey auction.
