This artifact is a presentation of a swatch from the flown lunar module transfer bag from Apollo 14.

After the flight of Apollo 14 several of these were produced to award the troops that worked on the flight simulators. A LM transfer bag retrieved after the flight was cut into 1" squares and affixed to the photo with the inscription: "This Piece of Material From the LM Transfer Bag Flown on Apollo 14, Jan. 31- Feb. 9, 1971."

The Earth To The Moon Air & Space Museum acquired this artifact through an eBay auction on March 8, 2000.

The seller of this item was employed by NASA for 30 years.  During that employment he was involved in Flight Crew Training at the Kennedy Space Center.  In that capacity, he operated the flight simulators used to train the crews fro Gemini and Apollo Missions.   Supporting these simulators led to face-to-face contact with the Astronauts.
