This piece of  photographic film flew on the historic Apollo 11 mission.  It was taken to the surface of the Moon by Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

The film is attached to a 3X5 inch card with transparent tape.  The type written statement authenticating this film has been signed NASA technologist Richard W. Underwood.

This artifact was placed up for auction in the Superior Galleries 1993 Space auction on January 11, 1993.  In that auction this was lot number 251.

The description from the auction catalog stated, "251. Piece of unexposed film, carried to the moon, a small piece of unexposed film taped to 5x3" card with the inscription: "This is to certify that the attached film was carried on board Apollo 11, on its historic flight to the moon July 16-21, 1969 and was carried to the surface of the moon by astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin in the Lunar Module 'Eagle' on July 20-1, 1969, signed Richard W. Underwood, Supervisory Aerospace Technologist.  This is the first time film with this pedigree has been sold."

The Earth To The Moon Air &  Space Museum acquired this artifact from the Superior Galleries auction.
