Jones began their attempt to circumnavigate the globe in a balloon.

Dylan Klebold kill 12 other students, a teacher, and themselves during
their siege of Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado.

June 11: Actor Deforest Kelly who
was best known for his role of Dr. McCoy on Star Trek passes away.

July 16: John F. Kennedy Jr., his
wife, and sister in law are killed when the airplane Kennedy is
piloting crashes near Martha's Vineyard.

craft is recovered from the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

spacecraft is intentionally crashed into the Moon to end its
exploration mission.

earthquake in Turkey kills more then 15,600 people and leaves 600,000
